re: The solution will involve many parts, fix the immigration process to allow guest workers so we can know who's here. We've got more than our share of "guest" workers. re: Close loopholes to citizenship or benefits. Beef up security at the borders, punish businesses hiring illegal workers. If we're serious, all we need to do is to put the people who hire illegals in jail... CEO's if thats the case. There are laws against hiring illegals; enforce them. Our business owners are the problem, very sophisticated and calculating people that weigh the benefit and the risk and make a deliberate decision to break the law. Everybody wants to blame the poor sucker who risks his life to cross the border to feed his family. He's invited, enabled and encouraged by the US employers. No jobs; no illegal immigration. It wouldn't take much, just put a few company presidents/owners in jail and the message would be broadcast very clearly. End of problem; no jobs no illegal immigration. It's not complicated... except for the politics.
