tejek, re: I think both are at fault. While I regret their unfortunate circumstances, the illegals know they are breaking the law. And I don't appreciate that the US has to pick up the slack because the Mexican or some Central American gov't is corrupt and not doing its job. The US has become a major revenue dependency for these countries. At the same time, if we do crack down there will be some major economic dislocation in the states most affected by illegals and their services. If the crackdown were done too quickly, I would not be surprised if it threw California into recession. I would agree - resolving the domestic/economic issues of another country is not our job. At the same time we do need low cost labor to function in several industries - obviously farming along the border states has been the primary example. Lately, Mr. Fox has been talking like we owe it to Mexicans to immigrant as though it's their right. This guy needs to be dealt with - he's starting to sound as loony as Pat Robertson.
