OT/That wasn't a rant, hawkeye. Way too short and mellow <g>. However, I'd simply add, before Shack scolds us all, that "bias" is defined by our own biases. Too, the state of the world and other political issues often color other reportage... sometimes even for the best. And believe me when I say that this crosses all political party lines and always has. To think otherwise is naive and ignores a couple hundred years of US media history!

I occasionally get sent emailed letters to the Detroit Free Press (www.thefreep.com!). These letters are living proof that bias is a very personal perception. Interestingly, the most anger and frustration comes out when someone at The Freep has written "unfavorably" about a local sports team!
