QUALCOMM’s WCDMA chipset market share has expanded from the low- to mid-teens to the mid- to high-20% range due to increased sales of handsets that use the company’s chipsets, the analyst says. The company’s chipset sales and high-margin royalty revenues are expected to increase substantially due to the anticipated robust growth in the WCDMA market, Prudential Financial adds.

Does anybody have access to the report? I'm curious how he came up with the market share numbers. His numbers would imply almost a 40% share in Europe during the December quarter and a 150%+ sequential increase in Q enabled WCDMA handset shipments. I'm bullish about how they have done in Europe over the last couple of months but I dont think that they have hit those kinds of numbers yet.

OTOH, if they are seeing that kind of momentum, he is going to have reset his $55 price target a bit higher <g>. We should get an idea how sales went from Samsung's earnings calls tomorrow night.
