Here's the latest example of the news flow on the storage sector. This is from Briefing.com ... 08:06 Kaufman initiates storage sector: EMC, KOMG, QLGC, STX with Buys

Kaufman Bros initiates the Enterprise Storage industry with Buy ratings on EMC ($18 tgt), QLGC and hard disk drive cos STX and KOMG ($45 tgt).... EMC should benefit from a powerful new product cycle in high-end storage (DMX-3), and a forthcoming front-end product refresh in its midrange CLARiiON line... Komag is manufacturing finished disks at full capacity and should remain at full capacity for several quarters.... Seagate is poised to benefit significantly from its forthcoming acquisition of Maxtor (accretive perhaps by around 40%), due to better industry pricing dynamics and the opportunities for cost rationalization.... QLogic made the right move in selling its (slow-growing) HDC business to Marvell, as the co is now more of a pure play in HBAs, an attractive sub-segment of storage.... Others started with a Hold: NTAP ($30 tgt), ELX ($24 tgt), BRCD ($5 tgt), MCDTA (4.50 tgt), WDC ($20 tgt), HTCH ($30 tgt) and BELM ($9 tgt).
