"Most other 20 inch LCDs appear to have a resolution of 1600 by 1200. "

That is more like it. My wife has a Dell 20.1" that we snagged for about $410 and it is a wide screen with 1680 by 1050.

Of course, I don't know how prices are where you are. Here you can get a real LCD monitor for what you paid.

It's an Elekta. Just looked up their webpage, and it appears to be a Romanian company. The specifications in the manual say 640 by 480. Looks like I'll have to return it. Most other 20 inch LCDs appear to have a resolution of 1600 by 1200.

Ya get what ya pay for, I guess (it was ~$450).

That's not that cheap. For an example, Costco's has a 20", recognizable brand name LCD for around $500 and they aren't even a techie store.

Can you get shipped if you bought on line? That might be the better way to go.
