There are 4-5 GOP corruption trials going on now, remember. Not a single democrat involved in any of them. The issue facing GOP congressmen who are in trouble is BRIBERY. That equals corruption. Simply taking legal contributions from a tribe is neither illegal nor unethical, and it needn't have anything to do with Abramoff or any ethics violations. It's perfectly legal to take money from legal lobbies, even creeps like Enron. Bush took 1.5 million from Enron and Lay but he's not being indicted. Of course, if Bush helped Enron rip off consumers that's another matter. And he probably did, but that's not what's on trial here. Back to the present case, it's very unethical and illegal to take money from Abramoff or his clients then go to bat for them to try and change legislation in their favor. This is exactly what Bushie congressmen have been doing since day one on many fronts and levels, and it's exactly what democrats have NOT been doing. Maybe in the bad old days, democrats did it too, but never as much as these modern Bushies, and not for many years. Also, Bushies have a major problem with taking huge bribes, pocketing money, getting expensive free trips, presents, free dinners, paying their wives for doing nothing, etc. All this should hit 10-20 righwing congressmen and land them in the pokey. Cunningham's already pokey-bound, remember, and he'll take others with him. If We The People condone this kind of corruption we're negligent American citizens. But we're not. We want this congress cleaned up and cleaned out. We demand it.
