You'll only see the pent-up demand if and when stocks break big-time. Certainly no sign of that now (although there may be soon). You won't see it from individuals, they'll be chained to their mortgage payments for some time to come. Who does that leave who's underinvested in treasuries? Hedgies? Maybe, a bit. Pensions? They're so far behind, that they'll need to make outsized bets (and lose, no doubt). MuFu's? Most are tied by their charters to stay in equities. So I guess I don't see where the demand comes from at least in the intermediate term.....They'll probably start buying bonds when equities have cratered and are already at the bottom, probably at exactly the wrong time.
