I got this email today:

From a blog at the P-I

"the weather report is not redundant.
I have been keeping track. Look at
all the different ways they've been
predicting rain. It's almost a
poem. Can anyone tell me the difference
between a chance of rain and a chance
of showers?"

PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

One of the more embarrassing things about working
at the NWS, is the ALL CAP SHOUT FORECAST.

That, and the fact that we don't actually
communicate much of what we see in the models.
Useful information might be which day will
be the crappiest, the windiest? To some degree
we do that in the marine forecast for the mariners,
but our generic public forecasts are shameful.
Although, the teevee guys are useless too.
