Phil > any nation possessing these weapons will use them if under attack. But Israel and the US are the only ones doing the attacking -- and the occupying of other peoples' land. In fact, what they both attempt to do is blame their victim(s) for their crimes and thereby attempt to justify what they have done or intend to do, much like a rapist blames his victim's short dress or pretty face for his lust. The US lies about Iraq's non-existent WMDs are now forgotten as it cranks up a similar program for Iran. If Israel and the US don't want people to have nuclear weapons they should set an example by giving up the ones they have -- but they would never do that for obvious reasons, as you say. In other words, their argument is pure hypocrisy. They are, in fact, not even interested in Iraq or Iran's nuclear weapons or the threat thereof but in a pretext to implement their "mein kampf" -- namely the neocon PNAC and Clean Break policies. Re: Israel, as you pointed out is a very small country with a very small population. Israel is acutely aware that it cannot afford to fight a war on its own territory, and certainly can't take a nuclear "first" hit and survive. SIZE DOES NOT MATTER... as far as unconventional warfare is concerned, I'm afraid. If a nuke were set off in a major US city then the US, as a multiracial, democratic polity, won't survive either.... Just see how its self-inflicted 9/11 terror strike already drove the US to curtail civil liberties, to set up Guantanamo, to erect an anti-wetback fence along the Mexican border(), etc. Re: There is no doubt at all in my mind that Israel will do everything in her power to try to preserve her nuclear superiority over her perceived enemies for as long as it can.* Does that entail nuclear blackmail against perceived traitors as well?
