Holly; I have never been banned from a thread in all my years with SI, but if I post here my streak is sure to come to an end. Most of what I was talking about is personal opinion and theory (conspiracy theory, to those who disagree), so I will limit and carefully screen my posts. My workplace is the great outdoors and physical fitness is more important than the ability to read or write. You did get me thinking along some different lines, though. Although an obese person could not satisfactorily work in my field, he or she is still entitled to make a living, but they should do so without being a burden to their co-workers. ie: If I was working in an office building and we had to evacuate quickly, I would want someone in front of me on the stairs that can move....FAST! A person that runs out of breath from a trek to the rest room just ain't gonna be able to get it done! Is it discrimination to not hire this person even though they have the ability to do the job? I think not! This person is as much (or more) of a danger to fellow employees as second hand smoke. JMO
