don't recall all the details but "hyperinflation" is already well defined by accountants because of currency translation issues.

if my memory is correct "non-hyperinflation" is less than 20% inflation for 3 years.

in a hyperinflation environment, the currency becomes useless for accounting measurement and reporting purposes, so one has to revert to another more stable currency for this.
