Your postscript and the fact that women mature earlier than men can be extended back to the Flynn Argument. Through out the 20th century the level of insecticides, plastics, dioxins have increased. This has brought on earlier and earlier maturation of girls. Many cases of fully developed breasts and menstruation in girls age 7-8-9 are documented and the prevalence of this is greatly increasing. Are the Flynn Effect statistics divided by sex? Early maturation would lead to higher IQ scores in younger girls though it would tend to decrease IQ when they are older. Again as IQ is tested almost entirely in the sub 25 age group this could be a significant factor.

<you invited a ton of abuse there.> Not really. Only ignorant, stupid, irrational people would offer abuse instead of reasoning and facts. Since I have previously explained carefully why those points were true, everyone now knows they are. Women know it's true too. They aren't stupid you know, though dopey blokes think they are. It's not that early maturation limits intelligence, which it doesn't seem to do, it limits experiences and early learning/brain training which enables subsequent talents to shine. So, for example, people can't become the world's best golfer if they've never handled a ball or bat, let alone a golf ball and club, until they have wisdom teeth. Similarly, people can't learn the sounds of other languages if they have got their wisdom teeth. They need to learn them under age 2 to really have them locked in solid, and before puberty to become completely fluent. People over age 23 can rarely avoid a life-long accent. Females learn languages, such as mathematics, too late to get really fluent in them. Females are deprived of the right education in the one size fits all system, with boys and girls bundled into the same classes, irrespective of maturity, skills etc. But I've been over this before here, so won't rehash it all. Note that nobody got abusive. They know it's true. Mqurice

They know it's true [or ignore me]. They don't care that they aren't good at maths [though a couple of them might well have been maths champions if they had continued with maths, though of course not on a par with the Lucasian professor of mathematics]. Sensible women would realize I'm right and start squawking about the comparatively bad education their daughters receive due to mismanagement of them in school. Schools typically bung a bunch of children together, help the hindmost and the bulk of them and leave the good ones to look after themselves. Because girls mature earlier, they don't get stretched when they should do, effortlessly succeeding where dirty little boys are still collecting snails and frogs. When they get hit with simultaneous equations, their eyes have long-since glazed over as they have been chasing young men for years by then and irrational numbers sound just that. Girls are robbed of a good education, by more than the fact that their brains are fully grown three years younger than boys. Not only do they get less time, they don't even get the information until too late. It's absurd and the education departments should be fired and told to get real jobs more suited to their talents.
