I used to say, most everyone I ever knew in combat FOUND GOD IN A FOXHOLE. If men just carried out the PROMISES they made to God under fire we'd all be a bunch of goody two shoes!! jdn

Peter, I don't know if you are familiar with country/western music, but I also have the same problem as George Strait, "All My Exes Live In Texas". I have heard, for most of my life, that there are not atheists in fox holes. When the lead is flying close to your head, you want to have somebody to talk, seriously, to. With no anchor, there is a percentage of combat troops that lose it in the head. I do not consider them to be cowards, but just not prepared for the end. That faith is missing in their lives.
