Friedman is one of these guys who see Israel as the 51st state. We had the same palpataions about Pakistan getting nukes ( the Islamic bomb! ) but the world hasn't ended (yet). I'm totally against nuclear proliferation, but we have NO credibility when we turn a blind eye to Israel's nuclear buildup and arsenal, let them do it without a peep, and now freak out when Iran wants to develop the capability to build nuclear weapons. A clearer double standard doesn't exist. That said, Iran's current elected leader is a total idiot. His statements beg for retribution.
