Jan 13 (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank lowered its rating on chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD.N: Quote, Profile, Research) to "sell" from "hold."

The brokerage, in a research note dated Jan. 12, said it expects Advanced Micro's fourth quarter to mark the last quarter of strong momentum as its faces a significantly more competitive Intel Corp. (INTC.O: Quote, Profile, Research) .

Advanced Micro will be challenged to deliver on the market's elevated expectations for 2006-07, the brokerage added.

The brokerage has a $26 price target on the stock.

Shares of AMD were down 2.83 percent at $34.35 in premarket trade on the Inet electronic network. (Reporting by Pradosh Choudhury in Bangalore)
