Taiwan is wild card with china. I think china and america can get along just fine if that issue remains under the radar for another 20 years or so. I think ultimatley there will be rapprochement and taiwanese party(s) will participate on the mainland. There are still some old time commies who have to pass from scene before a truer democracy functions there. Their eco freedom for the most part is the real deal unlike russia which is turning into another oilocracy. Have you noticed the nations with the biggest problems are the oil producers. But back to china and iran. They have similar student nationalism but the commies offer economic progress while the mullahs offer the stone ages. China should be careful supporting a regime which oppresses their progressives while supporting a form of islam that is a threat to china's future. Just as we can be deterred in many ways by a nuke iran so can china which has its own islamic threat. mike
