There is almost no far left remaining now. The so-called liberals like Hillary Clinton and even John Kerry are decidedly right of center.

And "left" would imply nationalizing the industries. That is the core belief of the left. I have not met anybody in this country so far that subscribes to that belief.

Please name any leader with great power in the USA today who could be called "far left" with a straight face. The only ones I can think of are a few congressmen like Kucinich.

Pelosi is certainly liberal, but not far left. She is a capitalist and is for a strong military. She is not for anything extreme.

On the other hand, far right leaders have enormous power now. In fact, Cheney turned out to be far right, though he ran as more of an honest conservative.

Yes the far right have taken over, albiet by cheating and lying. Though almost all of them are in the midst of being investigated, indicted or otherwise coming to the attention of law enforcement. Apparently, these days far right means crooked.
