emergencies have to happen here of course. But nothing else. Lots of healthcare "breakthroughs" are targeted at vanity surgery too, face lifts and reconstruction after surgery (which is not always vanity, I know). But anyway that is a lot of elective surgery and people are going overseas for that.

A few mos ago I took a look at one of those stock screeners, and I was amazed at the number of DRUG COMPANIES that have market caps over 20billion. Way more than any other group. More than tech, semiconductor etc. The reason the valuation on these companies is so high is that they are benefitting from our health care "system" such as it is. I just don't think the system is working and I don't think it can be maintained and therfore I don't believe ISRG and FOXH are going to be rewarded multi billion dollar mkt caps in the future. How many of these devices do these companies actually sell? Not many. Medical devices have a limited market to sell into. If these companies sell into the US hospital system, well, hard not to see serious price erosion coming. jmo.
