Alito will be confirmed - I don't see why people are wasting so much cyberink on this issue, except for the Dems using it to energize their base. He is not the judge a centrist or liberal would have picked, but we have a conservative president and a mostly conservative Senate majority, so the Constitution says they can seat any judge they nominate and vote for, as long as the guy is basically qualified to do the job. Alito is. He will be on the SC soon. Life goes on.
