Prob the woman copying the checks dropped them under the copy machine...but they didn't move the copy machine or dust for 10 years....That's pretty amazing...

I used to hav a temp service...and i can remember losing about 7 grand worth of checks in the back of my car....for about 6 months...and my X was SOOOO pissed at me....
