You're right. The drug problem is a big one. Still, I rank the drug problem with the symptoms of bad policy. The ultimate cause is the drug war (prohibition) on one side and limited access to better economic opportunities on the other.

Lest I sound like a bleeding heart commie pinko, let me make clear that I don't believe we need much more spending to fix the problem. In fact, if all levels of government did less to create the poor in the first place, the problem would be drastically reduced.

You missed the biggie: "THE DRUG PROBLEM"

When these killers drive BMW's it is unlikely they bought them by picking bottles or delivering papers.

One of the reasons pauly is going down in flames is he never once (correct me if I'm wrong) mentioned he would do anything to stop the trade in the drugs that are killing our kids

Marijuana should be as legal as alcohol. People desperately need to stop lying to children about drugs. Thus when children experiment with drugs, their reaction to them will be to understand that their parents told them the truth. It is kinda like sex. You can tell children it is horrible, you can tell boys they will go blind, and when they don't, they know you lied, and wonder what else are you lying about. Girls and boys would be much safer if they knew the truth, not the biblical truth, although ones beliefs should be taught in ones home, but the truth about conception and diseases and how to prevent them.

When children of 14 or 15 know that their parents lied a lot, or the priests lied, they lose faith and start to look for the other lies.
