RE:"What's the hurricane belt in N and S latitude?"

I dunno. I just remember where they went.

Here's the box according to my insurance:

The forbidden zone:

Between 12 degrees 40 minutes North and 23 degrees 30 minutes North by 55 degrees West and 85 degrees West, between July 1 - November 1

My boats current location is 23 30.25 N by 75 46.05 W, so just a dinghy ride north of the box northern boundary and squarely in the middle latitude of it.

Of course back in Dinner Key, Florida, it was none too safe, Last season my boat took damage on the starboard rub rail, the bow sprite, the refrig, a couple of bent stantions and possibly the radar and the most probably the AC portion of the inverter. Not that the insurance cared. They just double the deductible during Named storms.

I should be relocated some where south of this infamous box in a year or two with the blessing of the Wind God.
