Most Americans in politics have distanced themselves from Robertson and recognize him as a fanatic. I remember McLellan distancing Bush from Robertson as well. So the answer to your question is that Robertson has no power and as such can be safely ignored and disdained.

If Robertson does not have power, why does Bush not silence him? The reason he doesn't get silenced is because he serves the purpose of this presidency and because many of his followers are in Bush's constitency. Oh Robertson has power........more than you care to realize or admit.

The Iranian leader on the other hand, has enormous power to not only disrupt worldwide economics, but also to shed a great deal of blood. Then combined with that power, it turns out he is a fanatic who sees visions and openly preaches hatred of Israel and says Israel should be wiped off the map. So he cannot be ignored.

Like Robertson, the president of Iran does not say what he says for the hell of it. He has an agenda much like Robertson has an agenda.

The problem with Americans like you, is that you draw false comparisons and those false comparisons serve as red herrings for people who are honestly trying to figure out what is the right or wrong course of action.

The problem with Americans like me is we thought you all were a little over the edge and did not pay attention as you grew your numbers.

No matter how much we all wish it to be so, Iran is dangerous and cannot be ignored or dealt with lightly.

I am not wishing for anything. I see an Iranian religious fundamentalist much like Robertson trying very hard to stir up the pot while watching the fundamentalists in this country start to react. I can assure you its very disturbing to watch.
