i know you didn't mean to imply that. you're sincere and polite. but just because you didn't mean it that way doesn't mean that it doesn't come across that way. for instance, i know you're a doctor so let me ask you this. what if you diagnose a patient with a cold and tell him to 'take two aspirin and call me tomorrow', and then he asks you to pull out a medical text and prove to you that this is what he should really do? my guess is that you'd be annoyed with him... but maybe not.
