There is a cure for any of their tricks: Just hang up without sayng a word. I do it regularly. I don't care what their opinion of thi is; they don't pay my phone bill.

On Outlook Express 6, you can take a look at the content of the message without really opening it, so I use that a lot to prevent them from getting any information, or shoving a virus at me.
Netscape 7.2 now has that same feature.
