The attack was precise, the intelligence was flawed, and the strained relation between Pakistan and the US has been pushed to breaking point

This is a prime example of how this administration is so incompetent that it is creating more problems than good.

Le us assume all the positives:

1. The administration is out to protect ALL Americans.
2. The administration puts in place the most competent people in all the important positions of government
3. The administration is out to do good for its allies including Pakistan and all its people.
4. The CIA is full of (has many) incorruptible good guys.
5. The President can lawfully do anything he wants.
6. The CIA can operate without oversight.

The problems are:

1. Intelligence is sometimes flawed.
2. Technology may not work as well as it is cracked up to be.
3. People can make mistakes.
4. There may be some bad apples in the CIA.
5. The intended target may not always be there.

But, there is always collateral damage. There are always people that will get angry at you even if you are pristine and trying to do good.

The big problem in this case is that Pakistan is on the bubble. They have nuclear weapons. If the government gets into the wrong hands, that would be a bigger problem than any terrorist network.

The solutions are:

1. Be careful
2. Put in place the best people that you can in important jobs.
2. First do no harm.
3. If you must be forceful, prioritise. You have only so many bullets to use with your get out of jail free card.

This administration on the hand:

1. Values loyalty and friendship over competence in selecting people for important jobs.
2. Do thing without real thought and analysis. Shoot from the hips. Quick to anger.
3. Will go it alone in using force. Strain and damage relations with all its natural allies.
4. Is doing a bad job in post war ops in Iraq.
5. Is doing a bad job in managing the federal budget.
6. Is doing a bad job in setting up infrastructure to manage domestic relief efforts
7. Is doing a bad job of protecting the rights and privacies of its citizens.

It looks like Bush Jr. has spent trillons now to shoot a camel in the butt.
