President grateful for US assistance

ISLAMABAD: President Pervez Musharraf and US Senator John Kerry met on Sunday, with the Pakistani president expressed his gratitude over the prompt and substantive assistance provided by the US for earthquake relief. US Ambassador to Pakistan Ryan C Crocker was also present. Musharraf also outlined the steps taken by the government for relief and rehabilitation in the earthquake-hit areas. John Kerry, who is on a two-day visit to Pakistan, conveyed the sympathies of the American people on the loss of life and property caused by the earthquake. app
