NO2 Makes you talk like Donald Duck. Sniffing was Davy's primary analytical tool, but he and his generation used it socially as well.

Davy was knighted for inventing the carbide lamp, which revolutionized the coal mining industry. It converts calcium carbide to Acetylene gas. I used to have one.

You've got a "2" in the wrong spot!

N20 is Nitrous Oxide or "laughing gas".
NO2 is Nitrogen Dioxide which is quite poisonous.
