Because the majority of the people who live here care more about the profits of healthcare companies.

As you know, the United States is the only major Western country without some form of socialized medical care. The "Right" likes to talk about the difference in the quality of the healthcare systems, but that's just a smokescreen to support their allegiance to Corporate America.

The only Human Right that matters to them here is to maximize Corporate Profits.

the medical lobby is too strong in my opinion and our government is unable to escape that reality. The prescription drug plan just passed last year was the worst ripoff of the taxpayer I think I've ever seen. A lot of the reason our stock market isn't what it was is due to bad fiscal policy like this, imho.
