It does make one wonder what Oppenheimer's are up to. Firstly they split Anglo American off from De Beers, then they divested their controlling interest in De Beers. Now they are selling the Anglo Gold division of Anglo American. This is like Rothchild's banking arm leaving mining finance a few years ago. The timing seems odd.

These people probably were not leaving a sinking ship, but moving assets into something else, I'm guessing, but what? Oil? Arms? Chinese financial assets?

Anyone?
