Project Peru LNG To Add $ 800 Mn, To Economy By 2009
prminds.com
Excerpt:

Peru LNG is being developed in keeping with internationally recognized standards and environmental safeguards. The project is estimated to generate nearly 35,000 jobs. The government of Peru is expected to notch up $ 800 million yearly from LNG exports, when LNG production commences in 2009.

After an extensive evaluation of several sites, Pampa Melchorita on the west coast of Peru was selected as the best option based on a suite of environmental, technical and economic considerations. A first-class LNG liquefaction installation and marine export terminal is scheduled to be built and operated from here. A 400-kilometer long new transportation pipeline 32 inches in diameter will be constructed between the Chiquintirca communities in the Ayacucho Mountains to the LNG plant at the Pampa Melchorita coastline. There has been a significant geographic shift in the supply patterns of global gas reserves in countries experiencing a boost in economic growth.
