mUch of the information you give is based on statistics based on encouraging children to deal with criminals

Hmmmm....
MYTH #1
Smoking marijuana does not lead to heavier drug use.

This would be a personal harm issue

MYTH #2
Marijuana is safer and healthier than tobacco or alcohol.

This would be personal harm....defending one health-damaging habit by pointing to another is (pardon the pun) smoke and mirrors.

MYTH #3
Smoking marijuana has positive health benefits.

You just know putting smoke in your lungs is good for you. Nothing here about dealing with crime....mostly just dealing with idiots

MYTH #4
Marijuana is not addictive

Offer a baby candy and then get a govt councellor to "educate" the child about "proper candy use"

MYTH #5
Marijuana does not affect driving abilities

Of course pot sold in gov't outlets would be of a regulated strength so we need not worry about drivers being impaired...after all, alcohol content is regulated and we can easily see the benefit of these regulations..... sure

MYTH #6
Marijuana does not seriously and permanently affect the behaviour of young people.

Oh, well....society will always have need for labourers

MYTH #7
Young people are going to use marijuana regardless of whether it is illegal or not.

Especially so if their parents are telling them how wonderful it is...and a real bonus if they offer the kids a toke.

MYTH #8
Parents cannot do anything to prevent their children from using marijuana.

As you mentioned earlier....much better to tell kids about the wonderful benefits of drug use

You say: In Canada we have way too much invested in enforcement, and way to little invested in treatment. Just as at one time we did not treat alcoholics, so Canadians are still too stupid to realise that we need to treat drug addicts, and we need the treatment available when the person is ready, not in none months after they are worse off, or dead.

I sympathize with your concerns but I disagree with your "cure".

I think it would be much better to target the supply of drugs with real panalties and deterrents, increase the resources to educate kids and their parents about the real damage drugs do and treat those that need treatment. Our airwaves are bombarded with messages about the harmfull effects of alcohol use and at the same time commercials from beer companies are everywhere. Somehow, commercials from drug suppliers don't sit well with me.
Another thing is the hypocracy....telling kids not to smoke cigarettes because they are addictive and cause health problems while at the same time telling them how wonderful drugs are takes all credibility from the argument
