It was all started during the big split that took place during the Vietnam War, where the rightwing forces Eisenhower warned us against (the military-industrial-oil complex, which is also who Cheney and Bush represent) repped both by conservative Texas (many democrats) and then Nixon-Agnew targeted southern rural white men (along with hardhats) with a lot of pro-war anti-liberal propaganda. Nixon's southern strategy involved taking the quasi racist far rightwing white voters from George Wallace (truying to kill him too?) and uniting them with the big industrial interests. This worked for awhile, until after My Lai and Kent State it was obvious the Nixonites and theuir atrocious war were dead wrong. That war was based on lies and was a collosal mistake. We had no business escalating it except to make the Halliburtons of that era richer. The Vietnam War escalations and Kennedy assassinations were connected, and the forces behind those two original sins are still with us today, the driving force behind Bush-Cheney-Delay, those who profit off war and gas-gouging, then control the masses with the same old BS about how we're defending our country nand have to keep fighting (and limiting free speech and civil rights). What do Bush-Cheney really want? Something to replace the Cold War. And if it doesn't exist, they'll invent it. Beware of those who wave flags, hold stock in defence contractors and have never gone near a battlefield themselves. These are the chickenhawks whyo mean to cheat every one of us and get a lot of US troops killed for their own bottomline greed.
