The difference between Democrats and Republicans: Democrats are enraged when a person's constitutional rights are violated, because they know it could happen to anyone. Republicans are enraged when their constitutional rights are violated. The majority of Republicans favor torture of prisoners and unfettered spying in violation of constitutional rights. They support leaders who maintain secret prisons and detain prisoners for months and years with no formal charges. They do all this because it's not THEIR rights are being violated. Republicans practice Fair Weather Democracy.
