You are right find the hidden gems between Atlanta and Raleigh. So far I liked Cary the most. Lake Lurie an incredible little gem a half hour from Asheville. Lake Norman outside of Charlotte very nice. Some relos like Alpharetta area north of Atlanta. Perhaps none are anywhere near what Boulder is but to someone from the northeast or Florida looking for something different it might fit the bill..

Ohyeah,

There was a poster, RaleighRealtor, who was talking about how great the Raleigh area was. I asked him about Chapel Hill, and he said it was much more expensive. It's an awfully nice area, but the weather can not compare to Boulder's. If one likes CH, add Charlottesville, VA to that list. How expensive is C-ville? Perhaps Grace or Tradelite could chime in. Outside of California, Ann Arbor and Burlington, VT would be the only other killer collegetowns that have other things going for it that I can think of. And I'm not so sure about Ann Arbor.
