admitting we are losing this war I didn't realize we had a war....never heard it called that. I thought the "war on drugs" is a purely American situation.

We do have a problem though. My perspective is that the supply has to be dried up not made more available. How about this....minimum 25 years hard labour for any dealer proven to supply drugs that have caused a death (ala Carol O'Connor). We now increase penalties for death by drunk drivers but in my opinion not far enough so take that a step further and give them the same penalty.

Squishy feel-good programs can benefit those that need help now but they have absolutely no effect in deterring abuse in the future. Stiff penalties are needed to suppliers....there is no other deterrent to easy tax free money.
