No, I was a kid. My buddy and I got carbide lamps because they stayed lit for a long time when we were camping out. I don't think many mines allow open flames any more, not in this country at least. I'll ask my neighbor. He's a mine safety expert.

It was hysterical to see the Prof's reaction.
