Why do you always have to hold up the U.S. as a model? fresc refers to the US and to religion as a defense/distraction to his insecurities.... if you stand far enough back you can't get hit in retalliation....does wonders for ones weaknesses. There was an experiment done years ago where small pigs (no liberal puns please) were put into a fenced area of natural woods and watched to see how they would survive. As time went they managed to root and did well...no weight loss and were healthy. These same pigs were then fed in the same area without being moved. Feedings were regular. In a very short period of time they became dependent on the feeding to such a degree that when the feeding stopped, they would not or could not root enough feed to stay healthy. Simply put they became dependent and would have staved to death without the regular feeding. This is how socialism works....create a dependency and you create a perceived need.....unfortunately to the degree that the dependents feel they cannot get by on their own. Socialism destroys self-reliance and independance.
