"(Iran has bunches of oil. I wonder why they need nuclear energy so badly)" I see three possibilities. 1) They don't need it and they are just interested in building weapons. That doesn't make sense given the number of nuclear development sites we believe they currently have under development around the country, which are way more than needed to build bombs. 2) They don't need it, but everyone knows there is a market for all the energy you can produce and they want to sell as much energy as they can produce. 3) A combination of 1 and 2. That would make them a little like us.
