Hawkmoon is supposedly in Iraq fighting to fill his bank account. I think it's just as likely he's behind his sofa in Cleveland looking out for 'islamo fascists' hiding behind the TV. Hawk's cat is alarmed. I believe the economic activity he's yammering about is the drug running, kidnapping, general mayhem, lack of electricity and importing of oil going on. Iraqis are building many cement blocks to prevent suicide attackers. Meanwhile, the US' reconstruction funds have, unfortunately, dried up. Since every man, woman and child in the US of A owes something like $30,000 in national debt, I can imagine our funds are indeed rather dried up about now.

Why? Do you live in Iraq? For 1 1/2 years... Been shot at, mortared, rocketed... Driven down Route Irish (the most dangerous road in Iraq) a number of times.. is the right wingers like you who all they know is war war war, destroy destroy destroy, kill kill kill, greed greed greed. Let's see... how many people died on behalf of socialism and Marxism?? Hundred of millions... All for the purpose of "freeing" them from capitalism... Only to subjugate them under the Dictatorship of the Proletariat (Communist party members).. We told you not to go in there in the first place. And we also told you what will happen if you do. I agree.. the left always told Bush not to overthrow Saddam (makes me wonder if some of you were silently cheering "VIVA SADDAM").. But I don't believe many, AND I'M PRETTY SURE YOU DIDN'T, told anyone what was going to happen... Because how could anyone really know? The country hasn't yet broken up into civil war (though there's still factional violence). The only ones that were stupid enough and still are stupid enough to continue with no real plans Oh, I think they had plans.. However, they were not very realistic ones. It seems that there was a hope that after Saddam was overthrown, there would be a change of power and some other faction would step up to replace him. But it failed to take into account that no one could step up and effectively replace him without approval and support from the tribes. Failing that, the other option was to create a whole new political system from the ground up. In other words.. Nation Building... (the very word that most Liberal espouse in their hearts, but Vietnam-shy Republicans disassociate themselves from). Hawk
