Both China and Japan reduced their US debt holding in Oct. 2005 according to the US Treasury site:

China's holding declined by $4.6 billion or 1.8%, from $252.2 billion in Sept. to $247.6 billion in Oct. And no one knows how much China has sold through the retail commertial banks.

Japan's holding declined $5.7 billion in Oct.

The holdings of the US treasury by Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, and S. Korea also declined.

The official US debt, as a percent of China's total foreign reserve, has been declined from 41.28% in June 2004 to 31.55% in Oct. 2005

OT:

Here is a good Chinese article analysing CHNR. I will buy this one when it has a pull back. This is a good company, and the article seems explain why it runs up so much lately.
