"I understand the NUCLEAR issue is VERY popular even with the rank and file Iranians." Yep... it's perceived as a point of national pride, much as it it here. "Lets assume they get THE BOMB, and lets assume one day a terrorist organization obtains ...THE BOMB from them and clandestinely explodes it.... Do the people not realize THOSE NATIONS will hold IRAN responsible?" Of course. That's why that ain't likely to happen. (On the other-hand, they could try to do what Pakistan was doing all over the place: selling nuclear knowhow and hardware to rogue nations like North Korea, etc.) Want something more serious to worry about? Many in Iran believe that --- with Pakistan's bomb (development of which was FINANCED by Saudi Arabia) --- the Sunni Muslims got 'their bomb'... and now when Iran develops it's bomb it will be the 'Shiite bomb', counter-acting the influence and power of Sunni Islam. If the Sunni/Shi'a war ever gets out-of-hand, can you imagine nuclear war between the two sides of Islam?
