Company Continues to Exceed Expectations for the Marketing of Its Products to the Veterinarian and Professional Breeders Marketplaces
DALLAS, TX--(MARKET WIRE)--Jan 17, 2006 -- Pet Ecology Brands, Inc. (Other OTC:PECB.PK - News) -- www.petecology.com -- reported today on the initial results from trade shows the Company attended last week, which included the North American Veterinary Conference, January 8-12, in Orlando and the Houston Cat Club's CFA Charity Cat Show, January 7-8, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX. ADVERTISEMENT The North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC) has the reputation of being one of the best conferences for veterinary professionals in the world, and the 2006 program was so extensive that it was spread over 3 world-class hotels -- Orlando World Center Marriott, the Gaylord Palms and the Caribe Royale Resort. During the early part of the convention, the Company was interviewed by NAVC PrimeTime, which is reportedly the leading TV network in animal health conferences. The interview, which featured Pet Ecology's Scientific Professional Cat Litter, was aired repeatedly on the NAVC PrimeTime network which offered 24/7 programming, and was broadcast directly into the hotel rooms of NAVC attendees and throughout the conference venue.
According to NAVC representatives, Pet Ecology claimed the most number of attendees registering at their booth, out of the more than 500 vendors exhibiting at the show, which included many of the giants of pet products industry. The Company received over 21 orders for its products at the show, which were unexpected. Additionally, the Company received over 200 requests for samples from veterinarians and veterinarian distributors.
The Houston Cat Club's Annual Charity Show is a major regional show for members of the Cat Fancier's Association, which drew approximately 5,000 cat aficionados, to view the 450+ pedigreed cats being shown. The Company's participation in national and regional CFA-sponsored shows provides direct access to the breeder community, which is, like the veterinarians, a major influence in the consumer market for specialty cat products. The Houston Cat Club Charity show is one of the largest in the region.
Deborah Evans, Pet Ecology's Director of Marketing, stated, "We were very pleased with the tremendous amount of interest and attention we received by the veterinarian community. Based on the number of leads, which total over 400, as well as the numerous orders generated at this conference, we are very confident that we can achieve substantial penetration in the veterinarian market for all of our product lines. Results from the Houston Cat Club Show were just as positive, with substantial professional breeder and consumer interest and orders being generated at the show. At the Houston show, we successfully launched the first line extension of our Scientific Professional Cat Litter, with the introduction of our new Professional Breeder 20 lb bag. Additionally, we discovered a significant demand for an even larger case size, as well as our original single-bag case configuration. We found professional users and consumers alike, to be exceedingly interested in a larger size that weighs only 20 pounds and yet works like 140 lbs. of traditional clay litter. Our Professional Breeder bag is perfect for multi-cat households, clinics, and professional breeders."
The Company will continue to implement its marketing plans with the regular and frequent attendance at various consumer and business oriented trade shows throughout the US and Canada, since this is one of the most cost effective ways to introduce all of the Company's products.
About Pet Ecology Brands, Inc.
Pet Ecology Brands, Inc. has developed a revolutionary patented cat litter that destroys urine odor, clumps, and is earth-friendly. The litter is ultra-lightweight and convenient to use (3lbs works like 21lbs of clay/sand based products); it is 100% flushable and safe for sewer and septic tank systems. It is completely safe for cats and our environment, and does not contain any sodium bentonite, as used in competing brands. The design helps to protect the landfills, and yet does everything that clay litters do... and more. It has the ability to help indicate certain diseases commonly occurring in cats. The technique used is similar to that found in Merck's Veterinarian Manual. However, this litter not only warns of possible illness, but may also help indicate how far along the illness may be by the color the litter changes to, thereby providing the pet owner significant additional benefits and an early warning system concerning the cat's health.
A 20 lb package configuration, which was released to the market during the week of January 9, 2006, and is designed specifically for professional breeders & kennels, will also be available for consumers in early Spring 2006.
Pet Ecology's K-9 Fat Free Dog Treats(TM) are the first fat free treats on the market that meet the standards of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and offer dog owners an effective means to provide their pets with a non-fat tasty treat. They are also cholesterol free and sodium free. According to U.S. News & World Report, "the number one health problem for dogs is obesity." Today, dogs are fed fat rich food and treats, and often get significantly less exercise than required to maintain an ideal weight and healthy condition. Overweight dogs are more prone to serious injury, skeletal stress, and the same complications that people experience with significant weight gain via fat rich diets, ranging from heart and lung problems, to skin and kidney diseases, to circulatory and immune system issues.
Other products anticipated being launched by Pet Ecology Brands in 2006 include the first fat free cat treat, a vitamin enhanced dog treat, a low sodium and low fat microwavable gourmet cat dinner; and two product line extensions for the Scientific cat litter line to help indicate feline pregnancy and diabetes.
