- Call sellers that do not hedge their position will try to pressure the equity as it approaches the strike at which the calls were sold to protect themselves from losses. Furthermore, stocks trading in the money have a tendency to be drawn back to strikes with significant levels of open interest as expiration approaches.
That seems to be pattern over the last 18 months or so -
but it seems gamblers optimism is warranted.

Two steps ahead and one step back
all segments memory, foundries and logic seem to step up to the plate - remember just six months ago memory was supposed to inflict next leg down.
If I recall correctly Intel will have one 300mm fab just dedicated to chipsets.

Taiwan DRAM maker ProMOS Technologies plans for its capital expenditure (capex) this year to exceed NT$20 billion (US$624 million) while Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) and Inotera Memories will have a capex of more than NT$30 billion (US$937 million) and raise NT$6-7 billion (US$190-220 million), respectively.

With construction on its 12-inch-fab to start by the end of the first quarter, Nanya Technology expects its capex for the entire year to reach US$150-200 million.
