Hey, everyone has their own 'gut feelings', and is ENTITLED to them.

(And, obviously, an impossible hypothetical such as that could have been materially different if the *real world* had been different to allow a third term run for re-election....)

Never-the-less, Clinton left office with high poll numbers (higher then Bush's are now, and --- at the equivalent point in his second term --- also higher then Bush's now).

Polling at the time of the election also showed he 'would have been' a clear winner if his name had been on the ballot.

And, that's as close as one can come to an impossible hypothetical.
