INTC capital spending:

2003 - 3.7 billion
2004 - 4.8
2005 - 5.2 (as yet not confirmed)
2006 - 6.9 (estimate, plus/minus 200 million)

That would be an increase by 30%, not bad at all for equipment makers.

INTC said they are increasing capex substantially. They also will do away with midquarter updates and start giving full year guidance to help lead discussion toward longer term trends. I think $6.9 billion is higher than old peaks in the bubble era.
