Ali, AMD, in contrast, is viewed as a capable contender, with big growth potential, and it's valuation does not depend that much on the reported profits. Now, which perception will be tarnished most if cost of options will be explicitly reported to a casual investor Joe Shmoo?

So AMD should be viewed as an eternal startup, despite its long history of non-profitability and high executive compensation at the expense of shareholders.

If anything, it's AMD who should account for all the options they gave away to execs. And that's not even counting the option repricing that Jerry Sanders was famous for. Whatever valuation you think AMD deserves depends on how many more investors you can hoodwink with the "potential" for growth and profit.

AMD is not a startup Ali. AMD is a corporation with a very lousy record of having weirdos people running it and deceiving investors repeatedly. You have to be either stupid or manipulative to not admit it. Face the facts and give me a break. I don't care what the valuation is today, really. And please don't respond to my post. Your logic is screwed.
