But then he gives the BushWhacko crowd a pass on what was quite obviously an illegal, pre-emptive war, one which has taken away the lives of tens of thousands of innocent individuals, and for no particularly good reason, as far as we can see. And then he acts like it's just Washington business as usual, just another day at the public trough. Talk about a lack of accountability, let's start with Matthews. Chris is just another TV moron without a soul. As to Bush and the spying issue I feel he should be impeached, but Matthews has a point on some of the other issues. Democrats must start to address the issues of a new era if they are ever to get out of the cellar they are in. Economic fairness, the environment, our militaristic foreign policy, domestic spying, torture. These are issues the leadership must take up strongly if this party is going to be anything other than a washed-up joke. Fighting for Unions and minorities like nothing has changed since 1954 simply won't get it. No "guest" of his could ever get a "sane" word in edgewise with his constant ranting and interruptions. The only ideologue on the show is Matthews himself. While he pretends to give historical refererence to his arguments, he is merely spewing his right-wing wrath. He is the dictator on his show and you get the feeling that he would be (or is) in favor of a Bush dictatorship (which is where we are heading). Objectivity is a word that escapes Matthews' vocabulary. He would be better suited for Fox where he would fit right in. Posted by: CaBeachBum on January 16, 2006 at 06:50pm
