Denny Hastert is like Gotti Jr. promising to tell his dad Gotti Sr. (like Delay and his Bushie cronies) to clean up. Problem is, all the Delay-Bushie types are already busted. So this is pure damage control after the fact. The entire GOP rightwing has zero credibility on ethics, including David Drier, because none of them ever spoke out about it until last week, after they were busted.

Lawmakers are about to bombard the American public with proposals that would crack down on lobbyists. Several prominent plans, including one outlined yesterday by House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), would specifically ban meals and privately paid travel for lawmakers.
